When boutique owners Rana Shoar and Alejandra Hernandez opened their doors to Virgo nearly 3 years ago in Los Angeles Fashion District, they changed the way style doyennes shopped in downtown's production apparel area.

With a background in fashion styling and buying, it was natural the best friends would partner-up and embark on their own business ventures. Their original motivation was to start an accessories line, "Boos and Besitos" – a moniker paying homage to their Persian and Latin heritage.

It was only a short time after the two decided to expand into another operation, a retail store that translated their affinity for vintage. Rana and Alejandra conceptualized a space that embraced their dichotomous style, tapping into L.A. culture and presenting a travelogue of vintage inspirations that represent different eras.
Virgo offers a mixture of repurposed vintage garments, specializing in one-of-a-kind pieces that offer unique details, trimming, and construction. The store also features apparel and accessories by a select group of emerging designers with most items priced under $100, making it accessible to customers.

While Rana and Alejandra carry a strong value to professionalism, Virgo philosophy places an emphasis on fun - it is okay to mix and match prints or motifs, valorize both masculinity and femininity, dress up or dress down, wear a structured blouse with over-sized pants, or an ornate piece with a sportswear silhouette.
The L.A. natives cultivate a California spirit - an effortless, understated cool that hones in on the idea of being confident, daring and carefree. They aim to re-envision the way women relate to fashion and ultimately, the way women view themselves.
Rana and Alejandra take risks with their design approach with Virgo housing an aquarium of treasures, representing the diversity of women - colorful, playful, dark, demure and unconventional pairings that are fit for every woman.

Today, Virgo continues to grow, creating garments that make lasting statements and head-turning nods, striking the perfect balance of vintage, contemporary and avant-garde.
